Indianapolis Indians Toledo Sport reviews
Fun Game
We thought for sure the game would get rained out, but were pleased that we were able to see all nine innings with only a couple of sprinkles. We've been to several Indians games (we try to catch at least one game every season) and we always have a great time. Victory Field is a great ball field and very meticulously maintained. For this game, we opted for the lawn seating in the outfield, as we thought it might be more comfortable for our 11 year old, who gets bored and likes to walk around a bit. This seating area is great, as you can bring in your food, coolers, and blankets and stretch out . We did have a couple of uncomfortable moments, though, due to some families who were allowing their children to throw baseballs across the lawn area (I think they were the soft kind) to each other toward the end of the game. Even though the balls were soft, the kids were throwing them pretty hard and several people were struck by them near us - I think the parents should have intervened or taken them to another spot on the grounds that may have been a little safer or less crowded, but they didn't really seem to be concerned with it.
We also had a man come sit so close to us on the lawn that he was partially sitting on our blanket, and also sandwiched his legs between the couple in front of us. There didn't appear to be any rhyme or reason to it, because there was otherwise plenty of other open space on the lawn for him to sit - and he actually positioned himself in such a way that he could not actually see the game. My husband asked him to scoot over a bit, because he almost sat on his sunglasses, but he ignored him. The guy may have fallen asleep at one point (at least it appeared that way to me). Not sure why he did all of that, since he did bring his own blanket but never unfolded it in a spot of his own.
While we encountered a couple of uncomfortable moments, we otherwise enjoyed our time at the field - you can either sit on the lawn or get seats, which we have done in the past. There really are no bad seats, from our experience, only the awkwardness of getting in and out of your seat for food or restroom breaks, which most of us are used to at ball games anyway.
Loved the fireworks at the end!
